Savannah · Bluffton · Brunswick, since the early 1970s
One rule since the doors first opened: never send you somewhere else.
Thomas J. Morrison, D.D.S. opened a single office on 31st Street in Savannah in the early 1970s on one belief: everyone deserves the highest quality dental care at an affordable price. Instead of referring patients across town for anything beyond a cleaning, he built the specialist into the practice itself. More than 50 years later that same rule runs 4 offices with a full team of general dentists, a cosmetic team, an oral surgeon, a periodontist, and sleep dentistry, all under one roof.
The founding rule
“Everyone deserves the highest quality dental care at an affordable price.”
Thomas J. Morrison, D.D.S., founder, early 1970s
It is the one line of the original mission that has never been rewritten. Everything else, the second office, the third, the fourth, the oral surgeon, the periodontist, the sleep dentistry team, was added to make that promise easier to keep, not to replace it.
Available at every office
Other practices send you somewhere else. We built the specialist in-house instead.
When most general dentists run into a wisdom tooth, a gum problem, or a snoring complaint, the next step is a referral to a new office, a new set of records, and a new waiting room. Dr. Morrison built those specialists into the practice instead, and the team has grown that way ever since.
No referral, no repeat paperwork
See a general dentist, an oral surgeon, and a periodontist without filling out new patient forms at a second office or waiting on records to transfer between them.
One team who already knows you
The dentist who spots a cavity is on the same team as the periodontist who treats the gum disease behind it, so nothing falls through the cracks between offices.
Fewer visits, faster care
Dr. Pfeiffer offers same-day CEREC crowns at the Abercorn office, and because the next specialist is already on staff, care that used to mean three offices often means one visit instead.
The other half of the rule
Highest quality dental care means nothing if you can't afford it.
The practice still runs on the second half of Dr. Morrison's original promise. Here is what "affordable" actually looks like at the front desk.
Most insurance, handled for you
We accept most major dental plans, including Delta Dental, Cigna, MetLife, Aetna, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, and we file the claim so you don't have to do the paperwork.
CareCredit at our Georgia offices
Break a larger treatment into monthly payments instead of paying it all at once, available at the Savannah and Brunswick offices.
Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids
Accepted at our Georgia offices, so cost doesn't have to be the reason a child misses a cleaning.
Five disciplines, one team
Everything on this list happens without leaving the practice.
General Dentistry
Cleanings, checkups, and fillings that catch small problems before they become big, expensive ones.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Whitening, veneers, and bonding that fix a chipped, stained, or gapped smile, often in just a couple of visits.
Oral Surgery
Wisdom teeth and dental implants handled by Dr. Carson, the practice's dedicated oral surgeon, in Savannah, Bluffton, or Brunswick. No drive to a surgeon's office in another city.
Periodontics
Gum disease is the top reason adults lose teeth, and it usually doesn't hurt until it's serious. Dr. Coleman's laser gum treatments catch and calm it early, with less bleeding and faster healing than traditional surgery.
Sleep Dentistry
A custom oral appliance you wear at night can quiet snoring and treat mild to moderate sleep apnea, a simpler alternative to a CPAP machine for the right patient.
Meet a few of the team
Fourteen doctors. One standard.
Every office runs on doctors who trained hard and stayed local. Here are three of them.
Harold A. Black, DDS
Savannah born and raised, Dr. Black spent years as Chief of Dentistry at St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital and Memorial Medical Center before bringing that hospital-level rigor to the practice's sleep apnea care.
Daniel Carson, DMD, OMFS
The practice's dedicated oral surgeon, Dr. Carson operates across all three markets, so a wisdom tooth or implant in Bluffton or Brunswick never means a drive to a surgeon's office in Savannah or Charleston.
Eric L. Wilkins, DMD
A former U.S. Army cavalry officer who served two combat tours with the 3rd Infantry Division out of Ft. Stewart, Dr. Wilkins graduated 4th in his class at the Dental College of Georgia before joining MDA.
Four offices, one rule
Wherever you walk in, across coastal Georgia or the South Carolina Lowcountry, you get the same in-house team and the same rule Dr. Morrison started with on 31st Street.
Savannah, GA
Two offices, Abercorn Street and Wilmington Island, anchoring the practice Dr. Morrison built into Savannah's largest dental practice.
Bluffton, SC
15 Buck Island Rd. Dr. George Townes has treated patients here since earning his DMD from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1999.
Brunswick, GA
114 Altama Connector, home to Dr. Rosaane Brandt, licensed more than 20 years, and Dr. Hailey Hargis, who lives just down the coast on Saint Simons Island.
